As if I asked a common alms -

And in my wondering hand,

A stranger pressed a kingdom -

And I - bewildered stand -

As if I asked the Orient Had it for me a morn?

And it sh'd lift its purple dikes

And flood me with the Dawn!

好像我要求一场寻常的施舍似的 -

但在我期待的手中，

一个陌生人赐予了个王国 -

让我- 瞪目结舌 -

好像我要求东方神明赐我一个清晨？
