I always could not come up with a good answer to a simple question: where is your hometown? I was born and raised in Shanghai, where most non-Shanghainese find local people there snobbish. I do not like snobbish people, but I like lots of friends I met there. I grew up in a remote city among big deserts, where there are full of legendary stories in Martial Arts books. However, the only thing that stays in my memory is the monotorious noises from the railway tracks that I heard in the train compartments when I traveled in and out. Tianjin might be qualified as my hometown now, as my parents and my sister live in this city. I visited Tianjin only once, which was several years ago. It is funny to think that Tianjin is my hometown, but I am least familiar with it. Where is my home? I think it is where my heart stays -- 心安是家.
