For me, without the help of my husband, it is always a battle every morning to get both kids ready for the daycare and not to be too late for work. Olivia can pretty much dress herself to the point to leave the door, but Evan could care less about my worrying. So I am always the one who throw his winter coat on and drag him to the car.
Today, I woke them up earlier than usual and told them we needed to hurry as I absolutely could not be late for work. Olivia was really good, already got her coat on before I got a chance to get myself ready.
When I came down stairs, I couldn’t believe what I saw. Evan stood right in front of Olivia and Olivia apparently had just put the winter jacket on for him and was zipping him up. Evan just stood there looking very content to be taken care of by his big sister.
This was the first time I saw Olivia helping Evan to get dressed. Somehow I felt really moved and I think I will forever remember what I saw of my two children in this cold winter morning.
