classic haiku(俳句)

Issa, (1763 - 1827)

The snow having melted,
the village
is full of children.

The spring rain;
a little girl teaches
the cat to dance.

A day of haze;
the great room
is deserted and still.

Shiki, (1869 - 1902)

Spring rain;
holding an umbrella, and looking
at the picture books in the shop.

On the sandy beach,
footprints:
long is the spring day.

Basho, (1644 - 1694)

Spring rain
conveyed under the trees
in drops.

A green willow,
dripping down into the mud,
at low tide.

By the old temple,
peach blossoms;
a man treading rice.
