原来买了便宜的房子也会foreclosure

有一个屋主卖房，有一段很奇妙的话，这儿是原话：

“Unfortunate circumstances provide investment opportunity for your buyer. Great location, schools and acces to all. Won't last. Bring offers today! We have a positive relationship with the lender. Buyer to satisfy themselves to all room sizes above. Mello-roos amt taken off property profile. ”

查了一下，屋主是2000年买的房，才33万，现在值差不多60万。但因为是short sale，才卖50万。我开始想了很久也没有明白为什么会是short sale：即使卖50万，也比原来的loan amount($33万)多啊！后来终于想明白了，原来屋主弄了个home equity credit line，把房屋净值换成了现金，估计是买了好车或者作其他享受了，亦或是去投资去了，现在还不上这笔贷款了。的确是unfortunate circumstances. 不过估计这么做的人还是少数，至今只见到一个这样的例子。
