Every baby is different. Do not use other babies' standard on yours.

Let the baby decides how much to eat. When you feed solid food, baby is having enough when he/she refuses to open the mouth, or move his/her head sideways when the spoon comes. Stop then. At this age, majority of the nutrition still comes from milk. 16-24oz is a good range. Mine never reached 24oz in her lifetime. She peaked at 20oz.

I fed mine every four hours (she did not eat much before 4 hours but started to fuss when she was hungry). As for how much, that was purely up to her. She also fed herself by hand. I let her do her own eating of easy-to-grab food (cheese, small tomato pieces, small grape pieces).

As for solid food, it is purely up to you whether you want to do commercial one or homemade one. Commercial ones are easier, especially for travel. But if you want to introduce more variety and if you want to make sure the quality of material (all organic, or better-tasting), then you get to do it at home. My baby is all organic. I calculated the price. It is about the same doing my own (may be a bit more expensive since I buy the best quality products) as buying the commercial organic baby food. But if you cook your own, you have an extra dose of added love in those food!
