Today, we received a “US Toy” catalog. Both Olivia and Evan are very interested in reading toy catalogs, so he immediately grabbed it from me and started reading at the kitchen table while I started cooking.

While he was reading, he would constantly ask me: “Mom, can we buy this?”, “Mom, can we buy that?” At one point, he asked me: “Mom, can we just buy all the toys in this magazine?”

“All the toys? You don’t need all these toys. Plus do you know how much that would cost? Mom doesn’t have the money to buy all these toys.”

“But you can go buy some money first then you will have the money to buy the toys for me.” He told me, as if “buying money first and then spend it” is what people do in their everyday life.

I guess this revolutionary idea must be common in kids as I recall writing about the same thing for Olivia before. Who knows? Maybe I have said the same thing when I was a little girlJ
