Today is a busy day again. There are so many activities, such as Amy's Gym & Swimming, Comtemporary Art Workshorp, Grocery Store, Zoon and Bible Study. I did not stop from 5:30 am, the time I got up for the morning exercise ultil now 9:30pm.
It is very interesting to visit the contemporay art workshop. I made a wooden top for Amy using the tools and materials provided by the shop.
The shop has three functions. It has a store for selling comtemporay artcraft, exihbition area for contemporay artcrafts made of glass and workshops in the basement. The artcraft is too expensive and beyond my purchasing power.
The most interested for me and Amy is the workshop in the basement. There are three workshops in the basement and one workshop on the store level. I visited the workshop in store level at first. There are three middle aged women there, working with wools. They are using different wools to make different objects. I saw some balls, snakes, tadpoles etc. I asked some quesitons about the process. Actually, I used wools to make sheets, balls, socks and even shoes when I was little. My cousin was an expert for dealing with wools.
One workshop in the basement is about making colored cloth, There are about 5 ladys working in that workshop. It is quite interesting. They are using different flowers, leaves, vegetables etc to make natural pattern on cloth. My big daughter once colored T-Shirt for herself and for Amy using vegetable leaves.
The second workshop is about stuffed dols. Three lady was working there. One lady is using a sewing machine. Amy told that lady "I helped dady to use sewing machine". One lady replied "That good your dad sewing machine".
The third workshop is dealing with wood blocks. There are three machines just like an automatic drill, however, it is in horizontal position. Visitors are allowed to use the machine to make simple objects. Top is the simplest object people could make. I asked the permission to use the tool. An old man put a wood block into the machine. After the machine started rotating, the old man showe me the way to cut wood using different cutting tools. Following the instruction of the old mam, I started to cut the front surface and then the back surface. After this part finished, the old mam fixed the wood block again to cut handles. After cutting the handle, Amy was asked to paint TOP. Amy choose two colors, purple and blue. She painted the TOP.
When we were going out of the shop and noticed that a man was making TOP outside the gate. I noticed that the TOPs they made has different textures. I talked with the men and he explained it to me. He also showed me how to create those textures by making a new TOP. When he finished, Amy got two TOPs. She claim that she would give one TOP to Ben who is her classmates in daycare.
