Teething cold

sometimes cc would have cold symptons like runny nose with a lot of mucus. for this reason, i have brought her to the PD for many times.

everytime the PD will assure me that cc is simply having teething cold. it seems so rediculous to me for having cold sympton while teething. but after so many times of teething cold, i guess it's true.

normally the cold starts with clear mucus, very thin but constant mucus. drooling makes her face even more "watery". i would put a clean burp cloth around her neck to catch the saliva and let her wipes her nose and mouth constantly. after a day or two, the mucus will slowly be thicker and yellowish.

sometimes she would suffer from mild diarrhea and low grade fever. the appetite would be affected too. when the mucus starts to get thicker and thicker, she is getting better and better.

i used to use nasal aspirator to suck the mucus out, but she disapproves that after she figures out how to do it herself. she knows how to blow her nose to clean the mucus (but not very efficiently) and i just let her do the job.

bathing her is very good, the water and the steam help to clear her nose.

after few days, when the teething stops, the cold will stop too.

no medication ever being offered.
