Roots

Many words in English are formed from Latin roots. These words are often considered fairly formal in English.

Spect: see, look
           Respect---look up to
           Suspect---have a feeling
           Prospect---search

Vert: turn
          Revert-----go back
          Convert----change the beliefs of
          Divert------take away

Port: carry, take
         Transport-----send across
         import, export-----buy in, sell out
         Support------hold up

Duc, duct: lead
         Educate----go to school
         Conduct----lead
         Produce----make

Press: press, push
         Impress----full of admiration and respect
         Depress----make person feel miserable
         Express----put person thought into words

Pose, pone: place, put
         Postpone----change to a later date
         Depose------put off the throne
         Impose-----force

The examples above are of verbs only.There is usually at least one noun and at least one adjective as well.
