DIY- How to install back-up camera with color-LCD for Toyota Sequoia.

Applied to 08-09 Toyota Sequoia LV8 4WD, maybe other Toyota trucks.

Why? Safety concern as you can't see small objects or little kids when back up.

Time needed without experience: Less than 2 hours.

Parts and tools required:
1. Backup camera with color LCD. I bought it for about $30 on sale. It cost about $500 as pre-installed option.

2. Wrench and driver sets. Wire cutter, etc.

Step-by-step:
Follow the instructions closely. Basically two steps. First step you plug in the color LCD and put it somewhere close your dash. Second step is to install the camera with 2.4 GHz wireless transmitter on your rear license plate and connect to your accessory wire.

Tips.

1. Open either left or right back-up light assembly to locate accessory wires going to back-up light.

2. Toyota Sequoia does NOT have pre-drilled hole near rear license light and you need drill one, through where you could pass the camera wires. Trick is that you need connect the camera wires, under the exterior metal to the left or right accessory wires. Long stick or chopstick might be helpful.

3. Once wire connected, turn on the LCD when you shift to R. You could raise or lower your camera len. You are done!
