Although the local housing market was one of the best performers in the nation during 2010, sales volume was still down from 2009 in most jurisdictions. Prices recorded gains in much of the area, especially Prince William County, which was hit early—and severely—by foreclosures. Maryland counties, especially Prince George’s, felt the downturn later and are slower to recover.


HOME SALES

Most jurisdictions saw a drop in home sales.

Median sales price rose in most places.

Properties sold more quickly everywhere.

Number of Sales: Ferderick, PG county and DC's number of sales increased with median home price decreased
Median Home Price: 80% of DC area median price increased except Frederick and PG County
Days on Market: All cut into half.
