Today's topic was Oral health and care.

 

We should care for babies's oral health even they not yet have teeth.

 

Healthy teeth and gums link to a healthy body.Poor oral health can affect more than just your mouth but also can easily affect other disease such as diabetes,respiratory illness,pre-term ,low birth weight babies,cardiovascular disease etc.The bacteria in the mouth links to other parts of body that is why we should clean our mouth,teeth,gums everyday.

 

Oral disease itself can be painful,cause tooth loss and chronic bad breath,and affects people of all ages.Further more,it can develop into oral cancer which is preventable.

 

For babies without teeth, we should use a wet cloth to wipe,clean their gums once a day.

 

For the baby teeth, we should use a baby blush to help clean them with water only.After they become older and have full mouth of teeth, can use a tiny bit of tooth paste to blush their teeth.

 

Brush your kids'teeth for them until they can write their own names or when they are ready. And watch them from time to time to see they do a good job cleaning their teeth.

 

Brush teeth for about 2 minutes to have a full cleaning. Floss between teeth at least once a day after teeth are all leaning together.Doing so can make sure to get rid of bad plaques between teeth.Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that constantly builds up, thickens and can harden into tartar. Plaque can be remove with daily brushing and flossing. Plaque that is not removed contributes to infections in the gums. And it is important to prevent a cavity expecailly after eating sweet food,sugar,milk etc.

 

To have a oral healthy plan is very important. Go to see a dentist or hyginist regularly is very important.

 

I think from now on, I shall help to clean with my baby's mouth. I hope she has a good oral health.
