It was said that happiness cannot be the goal but only a by product of living one's life. Pursuit of happiness leads to unhappiness. The new generation of parents brought up their children with too much attention and too much emphasis on making them happy. They rush in too quickly to intervene at slighest sign of discomfort of their kids. They don't allow their kids to experience pain and suffering. All they hear from their parents are praises and encouragement. Parents cannot accept their kids don't have talent. They spend money on tutoring to help them improve. The kids grow up and face reality. They feel they are not happy enough. They were told the sky is the limit that they can do anything. Instead of feeling happy about a good life, they feel disappointment and emptiness inside.
