Back to the pool!

Google map said it would take me 1hr 59min to get to work by
bike and I beat it this morning by 10min and felt good. Not
just that I was fast, my labor had an extra purpose in
addition to exercising. My little bike felt sturdy and up to
whatever stress I could throw. [I bragged too soon. The trip back

took 2hrs 45min, due to the wind and low energy. It was tough. ]

3 weeks after the hill run, my left knee still hurt, even in
the pool.  Yes. On Thu, I went swimming after 7 months away from
water. It was always hard to get back to shape after a long
absence. But this time should be a little different, I
thought. After all, during these months, I made progress in
running, cycling, and weight training. My weight has not
changed significantly but my muscles had grown.

With these thoughts I kicked off the laps and, boy, was I
wrong!  My improved abs, lats, and glutes didn't seem to
matter. I was dead weight in the pool. I lost the
coordination between legs and arms and the torso didn't feel
one piece. My energy level was high, though. So I kept at it
for about 45 minutes. Toward the end, it did feel better.

I needed to first get back my killer flutter kick and for
that I would need to swim regularly and twice a week at
least.
