Happy 2017 my loves:
I bought this pattern Simplicity S8166 for the view below: I love the combination of the bow shirt and pencil skirt. The slim bow makes the shirt so soft and feminine. I would love to use some of silk fabrics in my stash to make a few for work.
This is the first time I sew a shirt with thin, soft, chiffon like silk. It is not as hard as I imaged. After I switched into the silk needle, I have not experienced any ‘skip’ I previously hated. The fabric is so thin and soft, I couldn't use the serger fearing the fabric is too fragile for serger. I used french seam for the whole shirt and it really not hard to do:
I don't like button holes and have never succeeded with machine buttonhole with my janome. I used a few whole plastics snap in the place of buttons. The buttons are hidden by the bow and really worked well with the whole bow look.
Front views, you can see the tiny white snaps hidden behind the bow:

I am dressing up pretending to go to work! Look at the cool loose bell sleeves!
So long my love.
