Revolutionary Road featured Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio nearly 12 years after Titanic. The iconic pair played the role of a husband and wife going through a failing marriage. It accurately depicts the themes of societal pressure and the complexities of a failed marriage. The movie explores how Winslet and Di Caprio’s characters find their way back to each other through an emotionally charged journey.

Directed by Kate Winslet’s then-husband Sam Mendes, it naturally featured some very intimate scenes between the two Titanic stars. While The Reader star loved working with her longtime best friend, she felt it was weird performing intimate scenes in front of her husband.

“It was the element of, ‘OK my husband is over there.’ That was a bit weird.”

Despite her awkwardness, Winslet went on to successfully film the scenes with what her co-star described as consummate professionalism. The movie was a professional success for Kate Winslet as she won a Golden Globe for her role, however, on the personal front she soon separated with Sam Mendes just two years after Revolutionary Road.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio are still going strong as ever (as friends!), ever since they first starred together in Titanic. Winslet revealed in an interview how blessed she is to have a friend like Di Caprio by her side.

“I feel so grateful for that friendship and it is like family. It’s one of those rare Hollywood friendships that I feel very blessed to have.”’

She then on went to describe how their relationship is more like siblings.

“It was a real brother sister thing. We were very, very, very close and really stuck together.”

Winslet even admitted that her friends are jealous of the bond the two co-stars share.

“The closeness and the strength of the friendship that we had is something a lot of my friends envy like mad. But to me he’s just silly old Leo.”

While the two have not collaborated on any project ever since, it would be lovely to see both together again, especially after the special bond they have with each other.
