If merger does not go through, OSIP will rebounce strongly because so many risk-arbitrage people who have shorted this stock will have to unwind (i.e. cover) their short positions. If the chance of merger failure is about 50%, risk/reward is favorable for your speculation. Again, your money, your decision. Disclosure: I have no position on this stock right now. Current OSIP price: $26.1 Follow on news: The merger closed on Monday (Nov. 14, 2005) with OSIP trading around $25.85/share. As I expected, OSIP would dip a little after merger went through. Unfortunately, my trade was a loser even though it was a good trade.
