1. I am a little sad to read about the death of Rachel right after the labor, but I am not sad for Isaac's death, which was natural. Israel and it's 12 tribes were finally established. (I always feel bad when I had to skip a long section of family tree. -- don't know how to take Esau's descendents into my bible study till this day :( )
2. "A bruised reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, "
like the this verse in Chinese better:
压伤的芦苇、他不折断.将残的灯火、他不吹灭.
3." LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill? " -- I am unworthy I know, even based on my own judgement. :(
4. "when you lie down, you will not be afraid;
when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet" -- Yes! Please help keep me that way, LORD!
Genesis: Really like Jacob's attitude to command his men to get rid of the idols. I also had a hard time to read the Esau's Descendants too:)
Matthew: Jesus continued healing people!
Psalm: wow! what a great image of the people who may live God's holy hill! Really like the last versus: He who does these things will never be shaken.
Proverbs: Wow! I really like it! I am very encouraged! I hope I can sleep well tonight! because for the LORD will be MY confidence and will keep MY foot from being snared!!!Yeah~~
1. I have the same feeling as Timothy. Sad for the death of Rachel. Jacob and Rachel had the touching love story but Rachel left Jacob alone finally...
2. I like this words “'I desire mercy, not sacrifice!” – From our reading, we can tell this was what Jesus did. Mercy provides help!
3. “preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight” – So that you could do everything in the right way!
