落花飘零: Here is my thought; It looks like the problem could be that the hungry elephant is secretly nibbling the leaves of plant while no one is around -:).
Seriously, I think, it might be better for you to do your own research on this help-needing plant (which doesn't seems to be an exotic one) from the net or at the nursery/green house near by and then form a rehab plan based upon your own diagnose and researching results. More, no matter what your final solution would be you should act fast before time runs out. You may also need developing plan “B” JIC things wouldn’t work out (-:.
Frankly, I am the one of those worst plant tenders in this planet. If plants died in my custody could ever speak out I would be surely charged with negligence if not manslaughter.
Your SOS signal flushed out my experiences on my failing house plants. Once, my Ex-gf complained to me with a ‘dirty’ look, “How come all of your plants are dieing at same time?” “That is because they haven’t been responding to my “treatment” plans. Plus, they never talk to me.” I replied. “That is the lamest excuse I ever heard.” She was getting offended by my not-so-funny remark and asserted “You can remember and recall those boring numbers on the financial statements years back from companies out there but you can’t remember watering your plants once a while? Her tone was so critical as if I was killing these poor plants on purpose. “Ok, you are right, guilty as charged.” I acknowledged my faults with reconciliatory manner. “How about form now on you’d take good care of these plants and I’d see what I can do for you”. I suggested to her. “That is fair enough.” She thought for few seconds and agreed. (Guys, I tell you, don’t ever argue with women for any thing that have life within because they can be so passionate and protective. Instead, collaborate with them for building a middle ground to save you from tons of headaches).
The rest of story was that the plants in my apartment were magically nourished backed from the “death bed” and soon thrived; some of them even flowered, which was truly rare. As for the one who tended those plants she was happy and “flourishing” as well. So my point is that if enough care, devotion and attention are poured into something or someone that has a problem solution(s) can be acquired.
My personal story shared above is aimed to entertain and de-stress you. So, please help your fiend’s plant and keep us updated for the status when it becomes available.
以上建议仅根据个人经验。我也有bad credit for plants. 前年我同事Amy 送的两盆Ivy 竟然死掉了。她直到现在还说,unbelievable, what kind of guys cannot even keep Ivy alive?!
上面提到的我类似的植物就是为了证明我是normal guy,而不是Anti-plants guy而买的.

Wish you can see the tree like this in a week. It has been posted in my photo profile (only one photo in there) since I can not input here. Good luck!

落花 FYI:
It seems a “7-leafs tree” in Chinese. It likes warm, sunny conditions with limited water. It does changes leafs slowly; however, the tree is losing little more leafs than usual. Cold, insufficient sun light, and too much water may be the causative factor. I guess that sun light and warm temperature may help. Good luck.
