To: 不可选项 Regarding Monitor and Video Card (图)

Here is what I have done for you to demo the monitor and video card matching problem.

Go

1. Control Panel

2. Display, Setting

3. You will see the maxium resolution you can set here, if you had select Hide modes that this monitor cannot display, which usually is a default setting, or if you use DVI interface, you can not make selection.

I first connect my 17 4:3 PNP monitor

4. Click advanced buttom you will see this

5. click on monitor you will see this

If your monitor has DVI interface, and you connect it to your video card DVI connector, you will see this, which means it will only display that monitor capable to perform.

6.Click on Adapter tab you will see this

click on List all modes you will see this

Remeber, this list is controled by hide that this monitor cannot display
if you de-select that option, it will show all modes that video card capable to perform, if you select the option, it only display the monitor capable to perform.

7.Now, I switch monitors, connect my 20 widescreen 1680x1050 monitor, you will see this

Do you see the difference?

So, if you want to figure out if your video card is good for your monitor, you can do,

1. connect it and find out,
or
2. De-select Hide modes that this monitor cannot display, and check list all modes to find your 1680x1050 resolution.

By the way, most LCD monitor is only good for 60HZ refresh frequency.

If you have de-select Hide modes that this monitor cannot display, and select higher refresh rate.

You may damage your LCD monitor, or get out of range message.

Hope I have showed you clear enough.

Good Luck!
