Lane Cove Tunnel Speeding Fines
The NSW Roads and Traffic Authority has decided not to proceed with fines issued for speeding offences when the variable speed limits 40km/h or 60km/h applied in the Lane Cove Tunnel between 25 March and 30 May 2007. It has instructed SDRO to withdraw relevant penalty notices issued during this period.
SDRO is currently investigating these fines and it will write to everyone affected within the next few days. The purpose of the SDRO investigation is to make sure that when the fines are withdrawn, demerit points are removed and refunds are made where appropriate.
If you were fined for speeding in the Lane Cove Tunnel where these lower speed limits applied between 25 March and 30 May 2007, you do not need to pay the fine. If you have already paid, SDRO will contact you shortly about a refund and removal of demerit points.
All people affected will receive a letter in the week commencing 4 June 2007.
