My '07 and '08 benchmark portfolios

Each year near year end, I constructed a benchmark portfolio for the following year. I\'ll then use the benchmark to check against my investment return throughout the year. YTD, my \'07 benchmark portfolio is up about 18.5%.



Thank to a few good stock picks such as SNP, VIP, MTL and CTRP (and of course, many bad picks, such as SMH, MTH, ADI, SPF, for which I cut losses well before I got hurt badly), as well as lots of option premium selling to take advantage of market\'s greed and fear, my own return is considerably higher than the benchmarkt.

Here is my \'08 benchmark. I\'ll update the benchmark from time to time next year.
