Day 6 continue
From Ginkakuji, there is a nice walking path, called "Path of Philosophy". There are cherry blossoms in the spring and colorful leaves in the fall, and many quaint little houses along the way.

1. Little alley.

2. Little house.

3. That is some parking job.

4. Fall foliage.

At the end of "Path of Philosophy", there is Nanzenji Temple. We didn't plan to go in it originally. But how could anyone resist this blazing fall color?

5. Nanzenji Temple.

6. Nanzenji Temple.

7. Nanzenji Temple.

8. There is a small sand garden in Nanzenji Temple, nothing compared to the one at Ginkakuji.

9. When we were ready to leave, two girls dressing as maiko (geisha apprentices) were standing by the entrance/exit area, taking pictures with tourists for free.

From Nanzenji Temple, our final stop of the day was Kiyomizudera.

10. We happened to see this huge orange torii gate, one of the largest in Japan, on the way to Kiyomizudera.

Kiyomizudera is supposed to be a really pretty temple, unfortunately on the day of our visit, we didn't catch the best of it.

11. The little shopping street between the bus stop and the temple was packed with people.

12. Main hall.

13.

14.

15. Beneath the main hall is the Otowa waterfall. Many people wait in lines to drink the water from it, which is said to have healing power.
