A Tale of Two Cities

David Copperfield, Great Expectation, Oliver Twist, Bleak House, A Christmas Carol, Hard Times, and Our Mutual Friend,

A Tale of Two Cities,

A Tale of Two Cities。

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.”

爱,可以把一个几乎与世隔绝18年的囚犯“recall to life”, 恨,则可以让一个年轻少女成长为一个冷酷的复仇狂:“Tell the Wind and the Fire where to stop”,读起来让人心惊胆战。

“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”
