Thanksgivings week reflection

Many parents are either soliciting advices for their kids, or giving their advice to their kids, including my relatives.  I frankly told my son while two of us went to a store, "Don't listen to our advice on your career choice, we don't know anything" I will respect his choice for or against, for as long it is his choice, not a choice made by others, not a choice to please others.

I admit that I don't have the courage to broach the subject of $400,000 salary, the sign-in bonus, the name brand.

I am grateful that we had an opportunity to spend some time playing card games into late night on the first day after we met together,  only to told that he had homework due next morning.

I am grateful that my kids can feel or see others' pain and agony, and share the joy and happiness of other' success.

I am grateful that my daughter was able to make her grandma smile, for her patience in listening to her grandma.

I am grateful that my daughter and her mom can have an heart to heart conversation in the wee hours.

I am grateful that my daughter understands my dry humor.
