It's interesting to read the comments to see people's take. Arguments on how she's a cheater and how he's a murderer. And here I am just thinking, you all know this is art, right? It's a manifestation of our fears in a relationship. A husband always fearing what his wife is doing because she has pushed him away emotionally and sexually. A wife fearing her husband is hiding some massive secret from her. People drawing their own conclusions based on them noticing the strain in their relationship. And at the end both are seen confronting their fears and disposing of them once and for good. And from that they grow closer together and rekindle their love. Or maybe I just read to deep into shit and it's just a nonsense of a movie.

This movie is a warning of what happens when women who “think”they’re high value and a man who’s lost his masculinity because of the society we now live in. He becomes weak and she becomes weak because of being brought up in a life where being an attractive woman can get you anything you want and because of your beauty you have unlimited privileges and can literally take advantage away from most males. The male character sees this but is too weak to accept it and deal with it most likely from either growing up and witnessing this and him being in a relationship narcissist who thinks she deserves more and more. She seems to get off on his jealousy. Most likely both life and the relationship are responsible and his lack of masculinity. He should’ve never let it get to this but with all this talk of toxic masculinity and living in a world where most people deny the existence of toxic femininity it’s just a disaster and this unfortunately is what’s coming to this country most likely

Stop cheating and he'll stop killing. She gets jealous when he gives attention to other women. Crazy woman.

Although the movie itself looks horrible, I believe it shows the reality of how many American marriages end in divorce and hence why the divorce rate is so high in this country, because of infidelity. This is a toxic relationship on the woman’s part for cheating and on the husband’s part for not filing for divorce and fighting for custody of his daughter. Then again, he’s just as crazy as her if he’s killing in her name. Meanwhile the person who suffers here the most is their daughter.

I'll never understand the concept of an open marriage. Either you're married & devoted or you're not. Why bother with the formality of marriage if you're not exclusive? Makes no sense to me. I was a DOG when I was single but when I got married, that was it. Just the way I personally wanted it to be.

Sometimes a marriage just can’t be fixed. She doesn’t like me, she doesn’t like our child. Getting custody of the child will certainly be uncontested. Divorce her and get that toxic person out of your life. It’s just that simple.

So I watched this and it was way better than I thought it would be and now I need to discuss!!! Why did either of them do what they did? I feel like it was hinted at a bit but just wanna hear what other people think. My personal take: Vic is cold, maybe even sociopathic, as he doesn't seem capable of guilt over causing other people's deaths (the whole drone thing). He also doesn't seem to feel anything -- or at least express anything -- unless he's riled up. Melinda on the other hand maybe had a rough upbringing (she mentions getting kicked out of schools) which left her with some issues. She seems to really be bothered that Vic looks down on her for not being as smart/rich as he is, and that he's never passionate with her. This has led her to drown her sorrows in booze and affairs. At some point she realized Vic was insanely jealous re: her affairs, and now she continues these affairs because it 1) makes her feel desired (by whoever she's with) and 2) makes her feel loved (by Vic). So that's why she does what she does. Why does Vic put up with it? That's a little more complex. I think the easy answer is "because he loves her". But I think it's a little more complex than that. I think he stays with her because he loves her... but also because secretly he also enjoys being able to feel something, even if it's just jealousy and rage. I also think towards the end, Melinda really thought about leaving Vic because she suspected him of killing her lovers, and because she'd reconnected with Tony, who was the only one of her lovers that she seemed to actually have an emotional connection to. The other two guys were just idiots who were in it because free real estate, but Tony was actually a good guy and they had a history together. I think Vic knew she really liked Tony and that's why he took him out and killed him. Actually I'm not even sure he killed the guy in the pool, or the off-screen guy alluded to in the beginning. Kinda suspicious to have so many coincidences, but it's just not 100% for me. Finally: I think Vic and Melinda finally had sex near the end because he was feeling like he'd won her for himself (by killing Tony) and therefore was able to express his love for her. Meanwhile I think she did it because she felt like she was about to be free of him, so it was sort of a last hurrah for her. But I think in the act, they each realized they loved the other, and vice versa. So when she found out he'd killed Tony, she decided to cover for him because of that love, twisted as it was. And I think when she mentioned that she'd seen Tony, she was basically telling him she knew... and was okay with it. So yeah I guess it was a fucked up sort of happy ending! Yay for you guys, you beautiful monsters!

Even while married the temptation for infidelity is in every single relationship. Plenty will lie and say they don’t think about it but it’s perfectly healthy to have said thoughts. But when you act on them just shows whether you were really ready to spend your life with them. (Again I said temptation not consideration, people getting it wrong lmao)

People say why don't the unhappy party just leave but it's more than that. After you have been married it's like you are the other person's property. So they will stay no matter how unhappy but will take out the "problem" just to go thru the whole problem all over again like a game, which one or both like to play.

you can't do a lie detector days after the murder because if the murderer had previous victims he's use to telling his mind he didn't do the murder so his heart won't beat fast enough to make the lie detector go off that's why lie detectors aren't used anymore your adrenaline stops rushing after the murder about 9 hours possibly less if you're good and a master murderer

Open relationships/marriages is pure BS. It solely benefits the woman. Think about it she's getting the benefits of a relationship/marriage, being provided for and protected, emotional support, comfortablity, etc... while living a life of promiscuity at the expense of the boyfriend/husband. And before you say he can see other people too. Understand that he doesn't have the same amount of options that she has therefore it is unbalanced. Frankly if your girlfriend or wife proposes an open relationship just break up with her or divorce her immediately. Not only does she not respect you anymore but she sees you as less of a man. And at that point there's no salvaging that.

They are very dysfunctional. She loves the fact that her husband loves her that much and will continue to lead other men to their deaths.
