这几天国会辩论激烈,占多数的民主党经济刺激计划出笼,招到共和党的抨击。作为一名纳税人、选民,俺从自己的个人利益出发,看看民、共两党的立场,打好自己的小算盘,为咱那一票负责。

提案是由当权派民主党提出:
Much of the spending, be it for a "smart" electric grid, computerized health records or aid to students, is intended to nudge the economy toward alternative energy, a better-educated workforce and wider access to health care.

共和党补充提案的主要部分(已被民主党接受):
Several big Republican amendments have been accepted, including a $70 billion temporary fix of the alternative minimum tax that economists contend has almost no stimulative effect and a nearly $20 billion tax credit for home buyers that Democrats say is poorly targeted.

其中共和党的提案:
AMT修正,和给新房主15000 Tax credit直接影响到俺的钱包,对俺很有吸引力。

民主党的提案:
电动车、计算机健康记录、老兵补助、学生助学金等对将来环境、对老兵、学生有帮助。

俺的理解是:共和党为短视者谋利益,民主党为理想者谋利益。在这经济危机的黑夜里,希望两党能共同努力,共度难关。
