Because of refinancing, I found a serious mistake
in my credit report:
Serious Delinquency
after I checked more details about it, I found it happened 3 years ago with an apartment rent company. When I moved out, the company charged me some money by mistake reporting. I didnot pay it, however, I called the company to argue about that mistake for about 3 months. Later, the company removed it and my balance with it is $0.
I had never thought that company reported it to "Serious Delinquency"!!!
How can I correct this ?
Please help me, because of it my score is bellow 700, and I can't have the right refiance rate.
Answer:
1. If you were rejected in any loan application, you can get your credit report for free from that credit bureau.
2. In the credit report, identify the company that claim you have delinquency. I am not sure that landlord can report directly to credit bureau or not. Usually, rent disput end up in collection items in credit report.
3. call credit bureau to dispute the delinquency, you may need to provide evidence that you didn't owe that money. Request credit bureau to remove that record from your credit report.
4. make sure check the problem in all 3 credit bureaus and fix all of them.
Please let me know your result. Good Luck!
