三十年代，芦沟桥事件发生前，慕容家族发生了灭门惨案，私家侦探汤浩为了调查爷爷的失踪和慕容家族的灭门惨案，在南市开办了浩然侦探社。五年后，南市发生连环命案，汤浩和警察局探长华威查出当年被灭族的慕容家又回来报仇了，而涉案的“红日”与失踪的“碧月”乃慕容家开启宝藏的钥匙，引发江湖一片混乱。这时汤浩失踪五年的未婚妻江霏儿突然回来，两人重燃爱火! 原来江霏儿是慕容家唯一后人慕容飞。汤浩终揭开层层迷雾，当年慕容家灭族幕后主谋正是南市司令方建南和飞龙会会长冯振天。江霏儿和汤浩助手祁珊珊报仇心切，堕进叛徒慕容敬的圈套。慕容敬消灭了方建南后，取得了“红日”和“碧月”，却打不开宝藏的大门，原来除了“红日”和“碧月”外，还有第三样东西“天珠”，而“天珠”却在汤浩“失踪”的爷爷那里。最终慕容飞得到了“红日”、“碧月”和“天珠”并把它们转交给了革命党员洛阳，作为地下党的活动经费。被金钱和欲望冲昏了头脑疯疯癫癫的慕容敬最终得到了法律的制裁。汤浩和慕容飞结婚后，离开了让他们伤心难过的南市。
