The Sound Of Silence 是保罗.西蒙和加芬克尔创作并演唱的歌曲，俩人多次合作，多次获奖，在六十至七十年代的流行乐坛上曾名噪一时，被认为是男声二重唱的“黄金搭档”。
摇滚乐的激情与乡村民谣质朴相结合, 1966年 The Sound Of Silence 荣登美国排行榜冠军. 吉他演奏，旋律优美飘缓，歌词亦真亦幻，细细听来如一个年轻人用他那彷徨无助的心灵在喧闹的空气中诉说着茫然与忧郁，充满着深沉与怀旧。又仿佛看到一个懵懂无知的女孩，独自一人行走在铺着鹅卵石的狭窄、清冷的小巷里，喧嚣的人群在她身后渐渐远去，前面是没有尽头的黑夜……
