IT consultant vs. Hooker Things that are in common:
1. An IT consultant is introduced to the client by the sales guy, a hooker is introduced to a client by a manager;
2. The client interviews the IT consultant and decides to use or not use him/her. A client picks or not picks the hooker after seeing her.
3. They both can be paid before or after the work is done.
Things that are different:
1. The hooker gets to choose the client if she/he wants to, but not the IT consultant;
2. The IT consultant has to wear suits, the hooker wears anything she/he wants to wear;
3. The hooker can say F... you! if not picked by the client, and still gets to go to the next. If the IT consultant did that, he/she is out of job immediately;
4. The hooker negotiates the pay sometimes, the IT consultant can only get whatever is screened off by his/her company.

Conclusion: IT consultant and Hooker have the same job: to satisfy the customers, except the hooker has more freedom.
