the hym "Guide me O thou great Redeemer" from the wedding of prince william and kate.

Guide me, O thou great redeemer,
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty,
Hold me with thy powerful hand;
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven
Feed me till I want no more;
Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer, strong deliverer;
Be thou still my strength and shield;
Be thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction
Land me safe on Canaan's side:
Songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to thee;
I will ever give to thee.

Love divine, all loves excelling,
Joy of heaven to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling;
All thy faithful mercies crown!
Jesus, Thou art all compassion,
Pure unbounded love Thou art;
Visit us with Thy salvation;
Enter every trembling heart.

Come, Almighty to deliver,
Let us all Thy life receive;
Suddenly return and never,
Never more Thy temples leave.
Thee we would be always blessing,
Serve Thee as Thy hosts above,
Pray and praise Thee without ceasing,
Glory in Thy perfect love.

Finish, then, Thy new creation;
Pure and spotless let us be.
Let us see Thy great salvation
Perfectly restored in Thee;
Changed from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before Thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

England does not have a national anthem, however unofficially the beautiful Jerusalem hymn is seen as such by many English people. Jerusalem was originally written as a poem by William Blake in 1804, the lyrics were added to music written by Hubert Parry in 1916 during the gloom of WWI when an uplifting new English hymn was well received and needed.

Jerusalem Hymn

And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the countenance divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here Among those dark satanic mills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear!
O clouds, unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land.

I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
I heard my country calling, away across the sea,
Across the waste of waters she calls and calls to me.
Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,
And round her feet are lying the dying and the dead.
I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns,
I haste to thee my mother, a son among thy sons.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.

God Save The Queen (standard version)

God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save The Queen!
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies,
And make them fall:
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix:
God save us all.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign:
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!

"This Is The Day" sung at the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. The words are taken from Psalms 118, 148, 91, 121 and 27.

This Is The Day -- (John Rutter)

This is the day, the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day

O Praise the LORD of heaven
Praise Him in the heights.
Praise Him, all ye angels of His
Praise Him, all His Host.
Praise Him, sun and moon
Praise Him, all ye stars of light
Let them praise the Name of the LORD

For he shall give his angels charge over thee
to keep thee in all thy ways (3)

The LORD Himself is thy Keeper
The LORD is thy Defence upon thy right hand;
So that the sun shall not burn thee by day
neither the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil
yea, it is even He that shall keep thy soul.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out, and thy coming in
from this time forth, from this time forth
from this time forth for evermore.

He shall defend thee (3) under His wings.
He shall defend thee (3) under His wings.

Be strong, and He shall comfort thy heart; shall comfort thy heart
And put thou thy trust, thy trust in the LORD
Put thou thy trust in the LORD
