Sure, here is the translation of the poem:
**"First and Foremost, of Course, Are Mountains and Rivers"**
First and foremost, of course, are mountains and rivers,
Then there is an eagle soaring in the sky,
Villages, hens, cows, horses, farmers, and shepherd boys,
Even a donkey, pigs, and sheep awaiting slaughter,
Earthworms, bats, lizards, snakes, scorpions, and mosquitoes—
Their names merge into another name:
Great Buddha! Their common home and mind,
Built through the eyes of a Taoist!
Great Buddha! This glorious name, these radiant characters,
An eternal haven, the womb of life and death,
See how it is both moving and still, neither moving nor still, steadfast and unmoved,
Though it walks, flies, and speeds,
It goes nowhere yet is omnipresent!
The name of the Great Buddha shines in all directions, and all things are blessed by its presence.
The killers and the killed, the speakers and the spoken of,
What I speak of you, is us, them, and it,
What I say of there is here, what I say of good people are bad people.
The language of this world is about to collapse, decline, and perish,
And now even poets with eyes like lightning and mouths spitting dragons and elephants,
Often fall silent before the Great Buddha, overwhelmed.
Where are your poems, your paper, and your pens?
Let me tell you, if not for practice,
If not for the Word becoming flesh,
Why would you bother to write those false poems?
