Redden home grow tomatos

Last summer, I ate some tomatos. I like the taste and the size of the tomatos. I then seeded them in a pot. Surprisely they germinated a lot. I kept 4 plantlets and transfered them in my garden. Once each plant had around 35-40 flowers, I started removing the new buds and also cut off some leaves every day. So, each plant had roughly 30 tomatos. I then harvested about 120 tomatos this year. I seeded them in May, too late. When I harvested them in mid October, they were green.

I transfered tomato in door from my cold garden (15C). Tomatos formed dew on their surface. Once this dew disappeared and no more dew formed. I placed them in a cardboard box together with apples. If you want tomatos redden slowly, you place less apples and place the box in a cooler place. Otherwise, you do the opposite. Remember, tomatos redden quickly in warm temperature and dark places.

Please view my tomatos in green and in red.

You must cover the lid of the cardboard box to keep the tomatos in dark.

From day to day, I pick the red tomatos out of the dark box. They taste good with wonderful skin. Usually, the red tomatos appear at the bottom of the box because the darkness speeds up mature of fruits. :))
