Trip to Canada(5) - Love Knot for the Carved Stoned Lions
Stillvremember the days before we got married, Daddy and I used to dayvdream about our dream house. Daddy was fascinated by the Chinese culture and his dream house at the time was a Chinese pagoda house sitting on topof a hill with two carved Chinese stone lions at the front of the driveway. Hey, that sounded great except that I knew it would take tremendous effort to make that dream come true:).
Well, the dream didn't come true but we did find out from this trip that our kids also are in love with these carved Chinese stone lions. Whenever Olivia and Evan saw them, no matter where they were, they would stopand ask: "Can I take a picture with the stone lions, please?"
So we had the kids' pictures taken with the lions in Chinatown at downtown
No, I won't Tell the Teacher
Oliviahas been shy of speaking in front of the strangers since she turnedfive; she is especially shy if she is not the master of the subject.
Yesterday,Daddy asked Olivia during their "heart to heart" talk time: "Did you tell your teacher that you are learning Chinese?"
Olivia answered without hesitation: "Oh, no, I don't want to do that."
"If I tell her that, people are going to expect me to speak Chinese." She continued, "Daniela in my class told the teacher that she can speak Spanish and everyone in the class asked her to speak Spanish. I don't want that to happen."
