My situation

My current situation as follow: I am a Canadian citizon. I landed a job in L.A. working as a division manager for a medium size HVAC firm. The employer asked me to think about H1B and green card instead of TN visa for the long run.

I need advise on how H1B can be done and once you have the H1B visa, how long would it takes to obtain a green card? Anyone help? Thanks
