stop trading for a while

This is a place to organize myself.

Since my first trade on 11/03/2006, now it's already 2 months. After I carefully reviewed my current status, finally I decided to stop trading for a while. The reasons are listed as followed.

First of all, it's not realistic for me to daytrade. The reason is very simple. I don't have the time and energy. I have to be with my family, do research, take courses and prepare for CFA. There is really no time for me to daytrade the market. It also seems impossible for me to become a daytrader right after my graduation. I will definitely have to find a job first, either in university or industry. So, the highest priority for me now is to publish more paper and get graduated soon, because of the green card issue for us.

Secondly, I can always resume trading later, but I cannot fail this PHD again.

Thus, I think it's wise to stop trading NOW!

My plan for this year will be the following:
1. During the day (9:30-5), I will do research and study.
2. Between the day and the night (5 - 8:30), family time.
3. During the night (8:30-11:30), half time will be assigned to course and half time to CFA( at least 1.5 hr every day).
4. During the weekend, work on my homework and play with my wife and my son.

5. During the weekend, I may spend some time reading stock books if I have time.

6. I will spend at most 1hr per day on stock market (including programming, reading DQ forum, look at charts etc..) Gradually I will reduce this amount of time to 30 mins.
