Do it yourself-Crafted Corsage zt.

Designer Valentine Leung shows how to turn a simple satin slip into the ultimate party dress with a hand-crafted corsage.

What You'll Need

  • a slip dress
  • one yard each of purple and magenta chiffon
  • paper and pencil
  • scissors
  • pins, needle, and thread

    Step 1: Drawing Board
Pencil the outline of a flower in a large circular shape. Draw an identical outline at half the size of the original. Cut the two shapes out.

    Step 2: Color-Coat It
Double-fold the purple and magenta fabric together. Pin each flower to the fabric, and cut along the pattern. Repeat this step six times.

    Step 3: Wrap Artist
With two pieces of the smaller flowers in varying colors on the inside, and two larger pieces on the outside, roll the fabric and sew at one end. Make six flowers total.

    Step 4: Sew Pretty
Fold each flower out, so the different layers of fabric look like overlapping petals. Sew the flowers in a tight cluster at the top center of the dress.
