刚刚考完那天晚上给一个朋友写的电子邮件内容,贴出来给大家看看有没有一点帮助。
我的成绩是99/258
Overall, I feel that the exam is very much like Kaplan Q-bank, although a
little bit easier for most questions. However, there were some (about 5 in
each block) very difficult questions that were totally out of my reviewed
area.
1. FA contents could be enough to pass the exam if all the contents are
fully understood and remembered.
2. Kaplan video contents must be enough for high score, should we be able
to remember all of them (impossible mission).
3. About 5 to 10 percent of exam questions will always be out of our
review area.
4. Many anatomy and neuroscience related questions, however, I think
Kaplan lectures are enough for the exam. A carefully review of HY Anatomy,
HY Embryology and YH Histology will help a lot.
5. Not many biochemistry questions. As I remembered, all of them are
related to genetic diseases. Carnitine transferase of lipid oxidization is
very important, although not included in FA.
6. I got many calculation Qs. Most of them totally out of my review area
and tricky. Several statistics calculations.
7. Most BS questions are “How would you answer the patient” type
questions (just like everybody else had said in the forums).
8. Microbiology and immunology questions are overall easy for me. At
least they are not outside the scope of FA.
9. Pathology is definitely the most important area. It is worthwhile to
listen to Goljan audio lecture for at least twice (once when you review
Pathology, and again before the exam). He really caught some very tricky
questions. If you have time, I think Robin’s Pathology Review is very good
material, worth to spend three days to go through all the questions.
10. Pharmacology is the most difficult subject for me when I was
reviewing, took a lot time to remember the details. Luckily, the exam did
not go into deep details. I think even FA is enough for Pharm exam.
11. Many physiology calculations and tables. Table type answers are very
time consuming to read through. You have to read several indexes for one
answer. Go through all the tables in FA very carefully. For example, when
the GR efferent arteriole constricted, what will happen to RPF, GFR and FF.
You need to remember every aspect of calcium regulation (at least three
table type questions in my exam).
12. “2004 remember questions 1&2” (a pdf file downloaded from forum)
are really high yield. But part 3 is trash, too picky nonsense at all.
