The stock market has had a very good run since 8/17/07. It’s up in 6 of the last 7 weeks. But since the beginning of 2006, we have got one 5-week winning streak and two 4-week winning streaks (including the one currently still running). So the odds is against us to further elongate the streak. But given the market momentum, it’s still possible. However, my guess is that we will probably get an even to slightly down week next week. On one or two of the days, the market may show some volatility to digest some of the recent gains. To prepare for such a scenario, I sold some stocks in my IRA accounts today so that I can have ammunition on the down days to buy again.
I’m an active swing trader. The following list shows what I did in my IRA accounts in the last few weeks. If you like, you can investigate further on these stocks. Most of them are good short to intermediate term trading candidates. But never follow me blindly.

The following is another list of stocks I bought in the 2 weeks before 7/26. I mentioned them in this forum before. Since I was fully invested and I didn’t want to go margin in a down market, this was what I could buy at the time. These eight stocks have done pretty well. I wish I had bought more of them during mid-August, when most of them were at much lower prices.
