DIY- How to install/upgrade to auto-dimming rear-view mirror with home-link and compass for Toyota Sequoia

Applied to 08-09 Toyota Sequoia LV8 4WD with regular rear view mirror, or maybe Tundra and Tacoma trucks.

Why? Regular rear-view mirror has a lot of reflection from inside the car at night driving. I made a mistake that I didn't have this option pre-installed. It's also nice to have compass and home-link to operate the garage door.

Time needed without experience: 20 minutes.

Parts and tools required:

1. Auto-dimming rear-view mirror with home-link and compass, about $250. This is OEM part made by Gentek, and looks exactly same like the one which come standard with Hyundai Veracruz. I think it comes standard also with Lexus RX 350.

2. Screwdriver sets

Step-by-step:

Follow the detailed instructions come with the mirror.

Tips:

1. You need remove the old mirror first with screwdriver.

2. You need connect the mirror to its power source, the accessory socket which hides inside the over-head console. The socket need pass through to mirror.

3. Once connected, screw back the new mirror, cover up the wire and put console back.

4. Test your new mirror and set the region for your compass. You are done!
