I have been so busy for the past couple of months and didn't have the time and mood to write anything. So here is the catch up of the Mother's Day for this year.

Evan gave me a poster he made at school - These Are the Top 10 Reasons Why I Love My Mom, and here they are:

10.    You love me back

9. You are the best mom ever.

8. You make me lunch

7. You give me hugs

6. You buy me toys

5. You love me

4. You give me kisses

3. You read me a book before bed

2. I will never forget you

1. You are my mom

I had breakfast in bed just like any other Mother's Day I had before. Dad and the kiddies gave me a flower basket that we later on planted in our yard.

The most memorable moment came when Olivia handed me the Mother's Day card from her and Evan which I knew she wrote the card herself. As I have said before, I have been worked a lot since the beginning of this year including weekends especially for the past couple of months. So Daddy pretty much took the full responsibilities of taking care of Olivia and Evan. I felt very guilty of not being able to take care of the family and spending time with my kids as much as I should/wished. For those days that I came home late at night after the kids were already asleep, the first thing Olivia did after she woke up the next day was to come to our room and gave me a hug and kiss saying that she missed me. She said to me a number of times: "Mom, you work too much, we don't see you anymore. Don’t you know family is more important than your work?" Whenever she said something like that, all I had was guilty for I know she is right and all I could say to her was: "I know, I know, I am so sorry honey. I will try not to work so much when things settle down a little" And that was why what Olivia wrote in the card brought tears to my eyes when I read it.

Olivia wrote:

Dear Mom,
We hope you have a great Mother's Day. We think you are helpful and caring. You try to leave work early just to see us which is very nice (I think I may have done this once this year). We know you have to work a lot, so we hope this year is different. We will do some of your work (at home). Me Olivia can cook and wash dishes. Evan can start easy by sorting clothes and making beds. Cleaning the playroom and keeping it clean, for once.

What's in the card itself is the following:

On this special day,
we hope you realize
How very important you are to us, to our family,
to all that makes life wonderful and worthwhile.
We hope you feel how loved you are…
more and more with every year.

Much love,
Olivia and Evan

Olivia actually has started cooking occasionally for the family during the weekends for the past month or two. Recalling the image of her loading the dishes and learning how to run the dishwasher last year when I was on crutches, I was just so touched by her words, her sweetness. I wanted to let her know (and I did) that I felt amazing to see her growing up from a tiny little baby to a beautiful young lady, so mature, with such a loving heart. I definitely felt loved on that special day and I am so proud that I have her as my daughter!
