It is getting close to my baby's birth. I booked a tour to Trillium Hospital where I chose to delivery my baby a while ago.

Today is the appointment day. Me and Aaron got to Trillium Hospital Family care center at 9am. We checked in first, then were told to the classroom # 2, around 9:30am, with a few other pregnent women and their support persons together, we watched a video about pregnency and delivery which was similar with the one we have watched in the expectant mommy's class.

During the video, each of us was called one by one by a nurse for an brief interview. She asked some regular questions about each one's information. Very soon my interview finished. After everyone was done with the interview. The nurse led us for the tour. She told us after 7pm and before 9am,we need to enter to the entrance through Emergency room.

At the lobby, there are Timhortons and a fresh juice and snack bar, it is convenient if you need some food to refresh yourself. Passing the lobby, following the signs,we got to elevator D which is the closest one to 3 floor the birthing center. We toured the after-birth section first, viewed the standard,semi-private and private rooms where the new moms stay after delivery their babies. Usually if natural birth, the moms and the babies will be discharged within 48 hours, if it is a C-section,then they will stay longer.

After viewing the after-birth section, we went to the other side, passing the urgent care unit,it is the birthing section, first stop is the nurse station, we shall report to here first when we come to delivery babies, we viewed the birthing unit, it is a spacious room with only one birthing bed in it, the room is equipped with monitors and machines, babies were deliveried here.

We also viewed the before-birth room, the mom will stay here before actually giving birth to a baby when they are at the first stage of birthing and delivery, the process may last over 10 hours, so the room looks very cozy and spacious, with comfortable chairs and couches, rocking chairs, and a huge bouncing ball.

Beside the room, it is a huge bathroom with a hot tub in it. Some women choose to have a bath in the hot tub to relax ,and release pain when they are in the constraction. If no one use it, you can request to use it and a nurse can set up for you.

Also there are support person waiting room, kitchen, shower rooms where you can have a shower.

Around 11am, we finished the tour, thanked for the nurse. We had coffee at the lobby from Timhortons. We all think it is good to have a tour before hand, at least now we know how to do if the time is coming.
