有空写写这一年纠音以来的一些收获,供有兴趣的同学参考。
音标系统混杂,各个字典又用不同的系统,所以有时候符号特别多而怪。记得前一段美风贴出来的音标,吴曼问符号怎么那么怪,我后来看了看这个对照表,知道是因为美风用的是dictionary.com上的音标系统。

去年纠音以来,一直用小千推荐的Merriam-Webster,慢慢也就习惯了这套系统。刚才看到冰粒问really长音短音i的问题想到该推荐推荐,纠音要养成查字典的习惯,查MW最好。这里有一个webster所有音标符号和音的对照,可以打印出来随时查询:

但是象Rachel's English上讲到ing里的i和永学哥说的beer里的ee音标是短i,其实发起来是长i。另外这个短i和长i是我们延续了以前学英语的习惯,其实这两个音的区别不只是长和短。再加上有地域的区别,所以这些符号不是绝对的,甚至有时候很misleading,就需要听一听真人发音,再确定。
