《法内情》是由黄泰来执导的剧情片，刘德华，叶德娴，秦沛，刘兆铭等参加演出。刘志鹏（刘德华 饰）是一位在孤儿院长大的青年律师，曾为一位被控谋杀的妓女刘惠兰（叶德娴 饰）打赢官司，但他始终不知她原来是自己的母亲。她仍操皮肉生涯，平日被杂差收黑钱敲诈，生活相当悲苦，不幸律师儿子的出世纸又落入坏蛋杂差手中，勒索叶巨款，迫得她到麻雀馆赌博出千，被捉毒打，走投无路之下，结果杀死了杂差， 被捕候审。孤儿院修女玛利亚知悉此事，找刘再次为刘辩护. 刘为了不想让儿子知道身世，宁可自杀作了结，幸而获救。在医院，修女玛修亚忍不住向刘讲出秘密，谓叶不单是他亲生母亲，更是那位供给他到外国留学的无名叔叔。刘与法官及检控官早有摩擦，积怨甚深，这使他为母亲辩护处于被动孤立，更因收买证人，教唆作假口供败露，面临知法犯法的惩罚，但刘却在公堂上讲出他的真正身世，更赞颂叶的伟大，结果博得陪审团的宽待。
