We had a simplified outdoor graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 last week, with social distancing and face masks.
The school did not invite any commencement speaker, the highlight of the ceremony is the speech by the President of the Senior Class, who happens to be my son. Though I know the gist of his speech, I had heard him and other family members debate about it, and I had heard him practice from time to time, but it was at the ceremony, it became real. It was my first time that I watched him in awe, smiling and gesturing, and hear him delivery inside a football stadium.
At the start of ceremony, he was the first one leading his peers out of gate, walking through the thunderous welcome crowd, and the last one receiving his diploma.
Finally, there is an official close for the class of 2020.
