Department of Labor Reports Another “glitch” in the PERM System By: Nicole C. Dillard, Esq. 通常情况下，在雇主为其雇员网上提交PERM申请后，劳工部DOL应该会向雇主发出一封电子邮件 (a verification of sponsorship email)，以核实该PERM申请的职位等信息。 而最近在1月25日及1月27日，DOL已经通知美国移民律师协会(AILA) ，由于PERM系统的问题而不能送出这些sponsorship verification emails。所以对于1月25日前送出的PERM申请，如果雇主仍未收到相关的sponsorship verification emails，则应与其律师查询。 As many of you are aware, when a PERM application is electronically filed on behalf of an employer, the employer will receive a verification of sponsorship email from the Department of Labor to determine whether the PERM application was knowingly filed on the employer’s behalf. The questions in this email are generally the Department of Labor’s way of verifying the location and status of the position and whether it is the employer’s intent to permanently hire the alien employee. The Department of Labor has reported to the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association liaison that at least on January 25, 2006 and January 27, 2006 , the PERM system failed to send out the sponsorship verification email to the employers. This problem has since been corrected, according to the Department of Labor.
