Save the fancy candle lights and the commonplace gala

‘cause there are special occasions the days after Valentine’s

And there are special places that lack California/>/> sunshine

Lovers grow tired of the Valentine’s tale
Roses are drooping and chocolates are stale
Shopkeepers of bonbons hosting a half off sale
Yet always good wishes leave a trail

Through perishing times and legends of betrayal
To the hearts of those where love does prevail

So be I will not your pretty little Valentine

For lies breed on truth told with good intent

Passionately woven delicately wind

Into the most enchanting twine

Gorgeous you may want me dressed in its shine

But seek I shall not ‘cept clothing for the soul divine

In the dusk of fate I warily go
