《油菜花之歌》 The Last Rose of Summer

The Last Rose of Summer is a very beautiful Irish song. I heard it first time when I was a teenage many years ago. I've loved it since then.

Since you are a such well-known flower-admirer (花痴) in the village, I think this great song is very appropriate for your birthday. Please allow me to take this opportunity to dedicate this special song along with other love songs to you, a very special young lady I know from WXC.

Happy Birthday, Due! Happy Each Single Day!

It's been a privilege to know you.

Oh, another thing. I heard girls over 28 like to use hexadecimal to count their age, Well, Happy Hex-Day then! ~

The Last Rose of Summer

'Tis the last rose of summer,
Left blooming all alone,
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone.

No flower of her kindred,
No rose bud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
Or give sigh for sigh.

I'll not leave thee, thou lone one,
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go sleep thou with them;
'Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o'er the bed

Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow
When friendships decay,
And from love's shining circle
The gems drop away!

When true hearts lie withered
And fond ones are flown
Oh! who would inhabit
This bleak world alone?

你也患了xxxx恐惧症呀.~ 标题都去掉了. 不过我也多少体会到那点点点的 '寒'义了. 这五月的天可真是有点透心凉啊 :(
